This second release is a live-off-the floor recording that is absolutely true the band's polished performance style. Their clever and playful interpretations of music from the '20s through '40s are captured in their original arrangements.
NOTES
For their second album release, the members of Company B Jazz Band decided to record live-off-the-floor. This method both emulates the bare-bones recordings of the era they represent, and exemplifies their high standard of performance. This past February, the band spent twelve solid hours recording the songs that comprise their 15-track album with the most minimal recording setup. Nine months later, their self-produced and self-designed album was ready for distribution. As per this band's penchant for humour, they titled their collection of traditional jazz recordings Rock & Roll (the title of one of the album's songs).

For those who have not yet seen or heard Company B Jazz Band, one could say that their music captures the cheerful essence of jazz of the 20s through 40s with their renditions of the era's timeless repertoire. Taking cues from groups such as the Andrews Sisters and the Boswell Sisters, the harmonies of the female vocal trio are well-complemented by top-notch instrumentalists. While there is an undeniable youth and freshness to their sound and their stage presence, the band makes it their mission to capture the style and the spirit of the music of the first half of the 20th century.
